I like to make beautiful things - stories, children (all grown now), houses, fabric pictures, quilts. Not very good with gardens, but I like looking at them. My favourite gardens - Hamilton City Gardens. Go there for inspiration and fun.
Dancer
Belly dance mode. I have always loved dancing - have tried ballroom, ballet, siroc, Argentinian tango. Belly dancing is what I’ve landed on because it doesn’t hurt my old knees and I don’t have to bully my husband into coming with me. Also I LOVE the bling. Same reason I love dressing up in costume and the Turkish lead light chandelier in my study.
Writer
I’ve tutored writing as well as done it. This is one of my favourite introductions to the art of the Haiku. Mostly I’m a story teller. I tell fantasy stories, because I enjoy being able to imagine myself the heroine of my own adventure. I also tell stories of middle aged women who have to reconsider their lives and what matters to them. I used to tell stories about younger women who ditto. I guess I just write about women’s identity - if you want to get deep about it.
